Robert Bland's Life Story
Robert Bland was born in King's Lynn, England. His father was a lawyer. Robert studied medicine at hospitals in London. In 1778, he earned his medical degree from St Andrew's University in Scotland. A few years later, in 1786, he received his license to practice medicine.
He became a very busy doctor in London, focusing on helping women during childbirth. He was even asked to write articles about childbirth for a famous encyclopedia called Rees's Cyclopædia. Robert Bland passed away in London on June 29, 1816.

Robert Bland had a son named William Bland. William became a doctor for the navy. He later moved to Australia and became involved in politics there.
Robert Bland's daughter, Sophia, married John Benjamin Heath. John Heath later became a very important person, serving as a governor of the Bank of England.
