Robert L. Braddy Sr., born on January 9, 1941, is a famous American baseball coach. He spent 27 years coaching college baseball at Jackson State University. He is known for his many wins and championships.

Early Life and Playing Days
Robert Braddy grew up in Florence, Mississippi. He went to Jackson State University, where he played college baseball. He was a pitcher for the Jackson State Tigers team from 1961 to 1964.
Becoming a Head Coach
In 1973, Braddy became the head coach for the Jackson State Tigers. He led the team for 27 years, until the year 2000. Under his coaching, the Tigers won 824 games and lost 546. This amazing record set a new high for wins in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).
Championship Wins
Coach Braddy's teams were very successful. They won 12 SWAC championships during his time as coach. His teams also played in the NCAA Division I baseball tournament three times.
After Coaching
After stepping down as head coach in 2000, Braddy continued to work at Jackson State. He became the athletic director for the university. He held this important role until 2011.
Honors and Awards
Coach Braddy has received many honors for his great career. In 2009, Jackson State University named their baseball field Braddy Field after him.
He was also inducted into several Hall of Fames:
- In 2003, he joined the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
- In 2016, he was welcomed into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame.
