Robert C. Wright's Early Life and Education
Robert C. Wright was born in Chester, Pennsylvania. His parents were Mary Maloney Wright and Robert A. Wright. His father was also a judge.
Robert C. Wright went to Chester High School. He graduated from there in 1962. After high school, he went to college.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from George Washington University in 1966. Later, he studied law. He received his law degree from Villanova University School of Law in 1969.
His Career in Law and Public Service
From 1970 to 1991, Robert C. Wright worked as a lawyer. He worked in his father's law office. He also helped lead several important groups.
He was a director for the Chester Water Authority. He also helped the Chester Boys and Girls Club. He was a lawyer for the Chester Housing Authority. He also led the Delaware County Republican Council.
Serving in the Pennsylvania House
Robert C. Wright was chosen to be a state representative. He was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 159th district. This happened in a special election on September 15, 1981. He took the place of Arthur Earley, who had passed away.
He served five terms in the House. This means he was re-elected four times. He left the House on January 5, 1992.
Becoming a Judge
In 1992, Robert C. Wright was elected as a judge. He joined the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas. He served as a judge until he retired in 2008.
It was special because both Robert C. Wright and his father, Robert A. Wright, served on this court at the same time. They were the first father and son to do so.
Robert C. Wright passed away in 2014. He was 69 years old. He died from complications of a serious illness called amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. He is buried at Haven Memorial Cemetery in Chester, Pennsylvania.
