Early Life and Family
Robert King took over his father's title, Baronet, in 1740. This happened when he was just 16 years old. Being a Baronet meant he held a special hereditary title.
Robert King's Political Role
In 1744, Robert King became a member of the Irish Parliament. He represented the area called Boyle. He held this position until 1748.
Becoming a Baron
In 1748, when Robert King was only 24, he received a higher title. He was made a Baron Kingsborough in the Irish peerage. This meant he became a Lord. He also held the role of Custos Rotulorum of Roscommon, which was a senior legal position in County Roscommon.
Robert King's Legacy
Lord Kingsborough passed away in May 1755. He was 31 years old. He never married, so he did not have any children to inherit his title. Because of this, the title of Baron Kingsborough ended with him.
