Robert Saladrigas Riera (born in Barcelona, Spain, on February 12, 1940 – died October 22, 2018) was a talented Spanish writer, journalist, and literary critic. He was well-known for his articles about books from other countries. These articles appeared in CULTURA/S, a special section of La Vanguardia newspaper. His writings have been translated into Spanish, Portuguese, and Romanian, allowing many people to enjoy his work.
His Life and Work
Robert Saladrigas first started studying Economics. But he quickly changed his path to focus on journalism and literature. He wrote for several newspapers, including El Correo Catalán
, Tele/eXpres , ABC, and La Vanguardia. At La Vanguardia, he was in charge of the Libros (Books) section from 1981 to 1994.He also worked with magazines like Siglo 20, Tele/Estel, Cavall Fort, Mundo, and Destino. In 1974, he started his own publishing company called Edicions Galba. He led this company until 1978.
From 1978 to 1984, Robert Saladrigas directed cultural TV shows for the Catalan part of TVE. These shows included Signes and Veus i formes. He also directed a five-episode TV novel called Cambres Barrades and a series of thirteen short stories called "Històries de Cara i Creu". He also hosted and took part in other cultural programs on radio stations like Ràdio 4, Radio Peninsular, COM Ràdio
, and Catalunya Ràdio.Awards and Achievements
