Robert Wilson's Early Life and School
Robert Wilson was born in Detroit, Michigan. He went to Amherst College and earned his first college degree. Later, he got a master's degree from the University of Michigan. He also studied law there for a while. After college, he became a securities analyst. This means he studied investments to help people make smart money choices.
Career and Giving Back
Robert Wilson started his own investment company in 1969. He stopped working in 1986. By the year 2000, he had earned a lot of money, about $800 million.
Giving to Important Causes
Robert Wilson was a very generous person. He gave away hundreds of millions of dollars. He often donated to groups that protect nature and old buildings.
