Robin Llwyd ab Owain is a Welsh writer and poet. He is also a Wikipedian, which means he helps create and improve Wikipedia. In 1991, he won a special award called the chair at the National Eisteddfod of Wales. This is a big cultural festival in Wales. Later, in 2013, he became the first Wales Manager for Wikimedia UK. He is the son of another famous Welsh writer, Owain Owain.

Robin Owain's Writing Journey
In 1991, Robin Owain won the top poetry prize at the National Eisteddfod of Wales. This event was held in Mold. His winning poem was called "Awdl Foliant Merch ein Hamserau", which means "The Girl of Our Times".
Poems and Songs
Some of Robin Owain's poems have been read on TV. A famous actor named Rhys Ifans read them aloud. In 1996, he put a book of his poems online. It was called "Rebel on the Web" at first. This was one of the first Welsh language books published on the internet! It is now known as "Rhedeg ar Wydyr" (Running on Glass).
Robin Owain has also written for TV and radio shows. He has written over 100 songs too. Sometimes, he works with his friend, the singer Rhys Meirion. A famous singer named Bryn Terfel has performed one of his songs. This song, "Brenin y Ser" (The King of The Stars), was written with composer Robat Arwyn.
Working with Wikipedia in Wales
On July 1, 2013, Robin Owain started a new job. He became the first Wales Manager for Wikimedia UK. This organization supports Wikipedia. His main goal was to help grow the Welsh Wikipedia (called Wicipedia Cymraeg).
Growing Welsh Wikipedia
As part of this project, the Welsh Assembly helped out. They gave money to train new editors. These new editors learned how to write and improve articles on the Welsh Wikipedia. This helped more people access information in the Welsh language.
