The Rock N Roll McDonald's is a very famous McDonald's restaurant in Chicago, Illinois. It was once the busiest McDonald's in the whole United States! Many people from all over the world visited it.

This special McDonald's is located in a part of Chicago called River North. It's not far from a popular shopping area known as the Magnificent Mile. It has been a fun place for tourists to visit ever since it first opened its doors in 1983.

A Look at Its History

The original Rock N Roll McDonald's building opened in 1983. It was designed to be a unique spot. Inside, there was a cool rock and roll exhibit. There was also a small museum about McDonald's history. This made it more than just a place to eat.

In 2005, the old building was taken down. A brand new, modern building was built in its place. This new restaurant was much bigger. It could seat about 300 people at one time. The new design kept some of the fun rock and roll theme at first.

What Makes It Special?

The Rock N Roll McDonald's has some neat features. It was the first McDonald's to have a two-lane drive-through. This meant more cars could get their food quickly. Inside, you could find a special café area. There were also flat-screen televisions for entertainment.

One cool thing about the building is its green roof. A green roof has plants growing on it. This helps the environment. It makes the building more eco-friendly.

A New Modern Style

In 2017, the restaurant started a big change. The plan was to remove the rock and roll theme. Instead, it would get a more modern look. The goal was to make it feel fresh and new. This redesigned McDonald's reopened in the spring of 2018. It still welcomes many visitors every day.
