Rodburn is a small place in Rowan County, Kentucky. It is an unincorporated community. This means it does not have its own local government like a city or town.
History
Rodburn first started in the 1870s. A company called Hixson-Rodburn Lumber Company built a sawmill there. A sawmill is a factory where logs are cut into lumber. This lumber was used to build homes and other things.
The sawmill helped the community grow. People moved to Rodburn to work at the mill. A post office was opened in Rodburn in 1888. This allowed people to send and receive mail easily. The post office served the community for many years. It stayed open until 1922.
