Rodrigo "Comprido" Medeiros, born on January 11, 1977, is a famous Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt. He is also a skilled grappler who specializes in submission grappling. Comprido is well-known for winning the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship twice in the openweight division. He has also been a Jiu-Jitsu teacher for many important mixed martial arts fighters. These include former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar and former Bellator Heavyweight Champions Cole Konrad and Pat Barry.

About Rodrigo "Comprido" Medeiros
Comprido is one of the people who helped start Team Brasa. He also appeared in a teaching video called The Science of Jiu-Jitsu II with Demian Maia.
Comprido lives in the Chicago area. He owns and teaches at his own school, Comprido BJJ. This school is part of the Brasa team and is located in Bloomingdale, Illinois.
Comprido also started the Brasa Jiu Jitsu camp in Buzios, Rio de Janeiro. He did this with his friend and student, Felipe Costa.
On August 9, 2014, Comprido had a grappling match against Saulo Ribeiro at Metamoris IV. The match ended in a draw.
Comprido made history in 1999 at the World Championships. He was the first person to win an IBJJF absolute black belt match by submission. He defeated Roberto "Roleta" Magalhaes in just 18 seconds. This was also the fastest submission in a black belt world championship final.
Comprido won seven Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world titles between 1999 and 2006. Four of these were from the IBJJF and three from the CBJJO.
In 2006, he started training UFC fighter Brock Lesnar. With Lesnar's encouragement, Comprido opened his own academy in 2011. Around that time, he also became a spokesperson for Greatmats. Greatmats is an online store that sells martial arts mats.
Comprido has trained many world champions. These include Brock Lesnar (UFC Heavyweight Champion) and Demian Maia (ADCC Champion). He also trained Cole Konrad (Bellator Heavyweight Champion) and Caio Terra (IBJJF Champion). Other champions he coached are Roberto Traven (IBJJF), Felipe Costa (IBJJF), Dean Lister (ADCC), and Jessica Buchman (IBJJF).
