Rodrigo Sorogoyen del Amo (born on September 16, 1981) is a Spanish film director and screenwriter. He is known for making exciting and intense movies and TV shows.
Rodrigo first became well-known for his film Stockholm in 2013. He was nominated for a Goya Award for Best New Director for it. Later, his short film Mother won a Goya Award for Best Fictional Short Film in 2018. It was even nominated for an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film!
In 2019, Rodrigo won two big Goya Awards for his movie The Realm: Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. He did it again in 2023 with his film The Beasts, which won 9 Goya Awards, including Best Film. The Beasts also won a César Award for Best Foreign Film in France. Rodrigo often works with a writer named Isabel Peña.

About Rodrigo Sorogoyen
Rodrigo Sorogoyen was born in Madrid, Spain, on September 16, 1981. His close friends call him Ruy. He comes from a family of filmmakers; his grandfather was a director named Antonio del Amo.
Rodrigo became interested in making movies after watching the film Léon: The Professional. He was so fascinated by it! He first studied history at the Complutense University of Madrid. Then, in 2004, he went to a special film school called ECAM to learn more about directing.
In 2019, Rodrigo was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. This is the group that gives out the famous Oscars!
