Roger Lodge (born March 12, 1960) is an American actor and host for television game shows and sports radio. He is most famous for hosting the popular dating show Blind Date.
Lodge has also acted in several TV shows. These include the sitcoms Full House, Yes, Dear, and The Parkers. He also appeared in movies like The Fan. Currently, he hosts a sports talk show on the radio.
Life and Career
Roger Lodge was born with the name Roger Chavez in Fontana, California. He grew up in Lakewood, California. In high school, he was a talented basketball player. He played on the same team as Ben Howland, who later became a famous college basketball coach. Lodge also played basketball in college.
Before becoming a famous host, Lodge had many small roles in Hollywood. He was a regular guest host on the E! channel's show Talk Soup. He also hosted a show about science fiction news called S.F. Vortex.
Television Host
From 1998 to 2006, Lodge hosted the dating show Blind Date. This became his most well-known role. In 2007, he started hosting another game show called Camouflage on the GSN.
He has also hosted live stage versions of The Price Is Right Live! in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Lodge has appeared as a commentator on truTV's The Smoking Gun Presents: World's Dumbest....
Acting and Radio
Lodge has appeared as an actor in many popular TV shows. He was in episodes of Full House, Yes, Dear, The Parkers, and That's So Raven.
Besides acting, Lodge is very involved in sports radio. He hosts The SportsLodge on radio station KLAA AM 830. This station is the main radio home for the Los Angeles Angels baseball team. He also hosts the pregame show for the Angels.
Lodge has often been a guest or guest host on ESPN sports shows, like Jim Rome Is Burning. He even won the Celebrity 3-Point Shootout at the NBA All-Star Weekend in both 2004 and 2005.
