Career
Early career
Rohit Kumar was born in Delhi, India. In 2013, he played for and was the captain of the Delhi team. This was during the B.C. Roy Trophy tournament. Soon after, he joined the academy of DSK Shivajians. He also played for their B team in local games.
DSK Shivajians
In August 2016, Rohit joined the main team of DSK Shivajians. This was for the 2016 Durand Cup. He scored his first goal for the team on August 28, 2016. This was just nine minutes into his first game against Sporting Goa. DSK Shivajians won that game 2–1.
He then scored two goals in the next game against Gangtok Himalayan. DSK Shivajians won again, 2–1. Rohit scored once more in the game after that, against Indian Navy. His goal helped DSK Shivajians draw the match 3–3.
Rohit played his first professional game in the I-League on January 14, 2017. This was against East Bengal. He came into the game in the 87th minute. DSK Shivajians lost that match 2–1.
FC Pune City
Rohit made his first professional appearance for FC Pune City on November 22, 2017. This was in the Indian Super League against Delhi Dynamos FC. In the very next game, on November 26, 2017, he scored his first ISL goal. This goal helped FC Pune City win 4-1 against ATK. His second goal also came against ATK. He scored it in the 77th minute at Pune City's home stadium.
Hyderabad FC
In 2019, Rohit signed with Hyderabad FC. He played in 9 matches for them. During his one season with the club, he scored one goal.
Kerala Blasters FC
On August 26, 2020, Kerala Blasters FC announced that Rohit was joining their team. He moved from Hyderabad FC to Kerala Blasters. Rohit played 11 matches for Kerala Blasters in the season that followed.
Bengaluru FC
On July 29, 2021, Bengaluru FC announced that they had signed Rohit. He joined the team on a two-year contract.
