Ronald "Ron" Siler Jr. (born April 8, 1980) is an American former amateur boxer. He competed for the United States at the 2004 Olympics. Today, he works as a boxing coach at the Cincinnati Golden Gloves gym.

About Ron Siler
Ron Siler grew up in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood of Cincinnati. He has nine siblings. He started boxing when he was 7 years old.
At first, Siler almost gave up the sport. He lost his first three boxing matches. But he kept going, and his powerful boxing style helped him win his next 50 fights! He faced challenges in his youth and left high school early.
Ron Siler's Amateur Boxing Career
Ron Siler was a very successful amateur boxer.
Early Wins and Challenges
Before 2001, he competed as a light flyweight boxer. He won the United States championships in 1998. In that match, he beat Jose Navarro.
In 1998 and 1999, he faced Brian Viloria five times. Viloria later became a world champion. Siler also lost in the first round at the Pan American Games to Maikro Romero.
Siler then won the National Golden Gloves in 2000. However, at the Olympic trials, he lost to Nonito Donaire and his brother Glenn Donaire.
Best Year in 2001
After Brian Viloria became a professional boxer, 2001 was Ron Siler's best year. He won the US championships again. He also earned a Bronze medal at the World Championships. There, he lost to Yan Bartelemí.
At the Goodwill Games, Siler showed great skill. He defeated Romanian boxer Marian Velicu with a score of 17-6 in the semifinals. In the final match, he beat Russian boxer Sergey Kazakov 17-9, winning the gold medal.
Moving to Flyweight
Siler then moved up to the flyweight category. He won the National Golden Gloves in 2002. At the World Cup, he lost to Somjit Jongjohor.
He won the National Golden Gloves again in 2003. In 2004, he also won the US championships.
The 2004 Olympics
Ron Siler qualified for the Olympic Games. He finished first at the 1st AIBA American 2004 Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Tijuana, Mexico.
At the 2004 Athens Olympics, he represented the United States as a Flyweight. He won his first match against Bradley Hore from Australia with a score of 32-18. In the second round, he lost to Tulashboy Doniyorov from Uzbekistan 22-45.
