Rosalind Osgood grew up in Broward County, Florida. She went to Fort Lauderdale High School. She loved learning and continued her education. She earned two advanced degrees from Nova Southeastern University. One was a master's degree and the other was a doctorate in public administration. Later, she also earned a Master of Divinity from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Serving on the School Board

Rosalind Osgood was a member of the Broward County School Board. She served there from 2012 until 2022. The School Board helps make decisions for all the public schools in Broward County. She left this role to run for a seat in the Florida State Senate.

Becoming a State Senator

On March 8, 2022, Rosalind Osgood won a special election. This meant she became the state senator for District 33 in Broward County. A special election happens when a seat becomes empty before the regular election.

Changes to Her District

In 2022, the areas that senators represent were redrawn. This process is called redistricting. Her district was renumbered from 33 to 32. Its boundaries also moved a bit to the south. Rosalind Osgood ran for re-election to represent this new District 32. She was on the ballot for the Democratic primary election on August 23, 2022. She continues to serve the people of Florida.

Besides her work in government, Rosalind Osgood is also a pastor. She is an associate pastor at the New Mount Olive Baptist Church in Fort Lauderdale. She was the first woman to become an ordained minister in that church's history.
