The Rotonda de los Jaliscienses Ilustres is a special monument in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. It used to be called the Rotonda de los Hombres Ilustres. This landmark is in the heart of downtown Guadalajara. It was built to remember and honor important people from Jalisco who have made a big difference in history.

About the Rotonda

This beautiful monument is located where several streets meet: Fray Antonio Alcalde, Miguel Hidalgo, Liceo, and Independencia. It was designed by an architect named Vicente Mendiola. He chose a Neoclassical style, which means it looks like ancient Greek and Roman buildings.

The Rotonda is a round building with 17 tall columns. It is made from strong stone called quarry. Its main purpose is to honor people from Jalisco who have achieved great things. These people have helped shape history in many ways.
