What the Story Is About
One morning, the people of Rin wake up to a big problem. The stream that flows from the mountain has almost dried up. By nightfall, there is no water left at all. This makes the villagers very sad and worried.
The stream is super important for their survival. It provides water for the bukshah, which are animals that help plow the land. The bukshah also give the villagers wool and milk. Without water, everyone in Rin is in danger.
To save their village, six brave and strong villagers decide to climb the mountain. The mountain is a forbidden place. People say a dragon lives at its top. A weak boy named Rowan also joins them.
The brave villagers are Strong Jonn, Brandon the furniture-maker, Marlie the weaver, Allun the baker, and the twins Val and Ellis. They start their dangerous journey up the mountain.
As they climb, strange things happen. They have a mountain map, but it is blank until Rowan holds it. Then, all the paths and secrets of the mountain appear on the map. The mountain is full of surprises, like swamps, forests, and scary caves.
Rowan remembers a part of an old prophecy: "Bravest Heart Will Carry On." He worries this means he will get hurt or even die. But in the end, Rowan discovers that he is the bravest one. He faces all the mountain's challenges, even when he is very scared. And finally, the stream starts to flow again!
