Some famous people used to play lawn bowling at the park. These included actors like Otto Kruger (who lived from 1885 to 1974) and Edward Arnold (who lived from 1890 to 1956).
Even Walt Disney (who lived from 1901 to 1966) was a regular player. He also helped the club by giving donations. Because of him, the "Walt Disney Masters Singles" tournament is held once a year in his honor.
