Roy Heather (born May 20, 1935 – died September 3, 2014) was an English actor. He is best known for playing Sid, the cafe owner, in the popular TV show Only Fools and Horses. This show was a sitcom, which is a funny TV series about everyday life.

Roy Heather's Early Life and Career
Starting Out
Roy Heather was born in Stoke Poges, a town in Buckinghamshire, England. After finishing school, he first worked for a company that dealt with asbestos. Later, he did his National Service with the Royal Air Force. This was a time when young men had to serve in the military for a period.
After his service, Roy tried many different jobs. He even sold household goods for a company called Betterware. All this time, he loved acting as a hobby in amateur plays.
Becoming a Professional Actor
When Roy was 44 years old, someone named David Tudor noticed his talent. David gave Roy his first professional acting job in repertory theatre. This type of theatre means actors perform many different plays, often changing roles quickly.
While working for David Tudor, Roy played many main characters. He was Frank in a play called Winter Journey and Reg in The Norman Conquests. He also acted alongside famous actress Ingrid Pitt in a new play called Aurelia. Roy was also the first actor to play Pistol in a special stage show called After Agincourt.
