Rubik, the Amazing Cube was a fun Saturday morning cartoon that aired in 1983. It was based on the famous Rubik's Cube puzzle. The show was made by Ruby-Spears Enterprises.

It was first shown on ABC as part of The Pac-Man/Rubik, the Amazing Cube Hour. This block of shows ran from September 10 to December 10, 1983. Reruns continued until September 1, 1984. Later, the Rubik half-hour aired by itself from May 4 to August 31, 1985.

The cartoon was about a special, magic Rubik's Cube named Rubik. He could fly and had other cool powers. Rubik only came to life when his colors were all solved. Ron Palillo was the voice of Rubik. He spoke slowly, and then technicians sped up his voice to make it sound unique.

The Story of Rubik

The main story of the show began when Rubik fell out of an evil magician's stagecoach. This magician became the main bad guy in the series. Rubik teamed up with three kids: Carlos, Lisa, and Reynaldo Rodriguez. Together, they worked to stop the magician from getting Rubik back.

One time, a detective who was related to the magician found Rubik. But the detective decided the children should keep Rubik. He knew the magician would use Rubik's powers for bad things.

Adventures and Challenges

Besides the evil magician, the kids and Rubik faced other problems. For example, the oldest son, Carlos, once had trouble with a bully. This bully was trying to impress a girl while being mean to Carlos. Rubik secretly helped to show the girl the bully's true, unkind personality.

For exciting moments in the show, Rubik would often get scrambled. This could happen if he was dropped or if the family dog grabbed him. Sometimes, Rubik even scrambled himself! When he was scrambled, Rubik could only make quiet, jumbled sounds. He would sometimes even say, "Help." The Rodriguez children usually solved him quickly, but it took them longer in tricky situations.
