Rufino Blanco Fombona (1874–1944) was an important writer and thinker from Venezuela. He studied and wrote about the history of books and authors. He also helped people around the world discover amazing writers from Latin America. He was nominated six times for the Nobel Prize in Literature, which is a very important award for writers. Today, he is buried in the National Pantheon of Venezuela, a special place where important people are laid to rest.
