Runaway is a special TV series about a young boy named Sean. He decides to leave his home and explore the streets. Sean is having a tough time at school because of bullying. He also faces daily problems at home. His two younger brothers, Dean and Jack, don't really notice he's gone at first.
On his journey, Sean meets a girl named Molly. She takes him to an old, broken-down mill where her family lives. The series shows what happens to Sean and Molly as they try to survive on their own. It also follows the police as they search for Sean. The show explores how his disappearance affects his family.
Runaway was part of a group of shows on CBBC. These shows talked about children who might not have a stable home. It was first shown as three separate half-hour episodes in March 2009. Later, all three episodes were put together into one longer film. This film was 82 minutes long.
