Ruset Peak is a tall mountain peak in a very cold place called Antarctica. It stands at 1600 meters high. This peak is part of the Sentinel Range, which is a group of mountains in the Ellsworth Mountains.

What is Ruset Peak?

Ruset Peak is located in the southeast part of Petvar Heights. It looks over a few icy features. To its west, there's the Carey Glacier. To the north, you can see the Divdyadovo Glacier. And to the east, there's a huge river of ice called the Rutford Ice Stream.

Who was Aleksandar Ruset?

This peak is named after a special person from Bulgaria. His name was Aleksandar Ruset (1810–1861). He was a cartographer, which means he was a person who made maps. Naming a peak after him honors his work in mapping. The peak's name in Bulgarian is Bulgarian: връх Русет, romanizedvrah Ruset.

Where is Ruset Peak Located?

You can find Ruset Peak at these coordinates: 78°47′56″S 84°01′10″W / 78.79889°S 84.01944°W / -78.79889; -84.01944. It is about 8.6 kilometers east of Miller Peak. It is also 8.1 kilometers south of Long Peak. Malkoch Peak is just 2.52 kilometers to the south of Ruset Peak. Maps of this area were first made by the United States in 1961 and updated in 1988.
