Ruth Almog (Hebrew: רות אלמוג) is a famous Israeli writer. She writes many kinds of books. These include novels and stories for children and young people. She has won many important awards for her writing.
About Ruth Almog
Ruth Almog was born on May 15, 1936. This was in Petah Tikva, which was then called Mandatory Palestine. Her parents came from Hamburg in 1933. Ruth studied at the David Yellin Teachers College. She also went to Tel Aviv University. Later, she taught philosophy and film there.
Ruth was also a deputy editor. She worked for the literature section of a big newspaper called Haaretz. She was also a writer-in-residence at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. This means she was a special writer who worked there.
In 1959, she married a poet named Aharon Almog. They had two daughters together. Their names are Shira and Eliana.

Her book My Journey with Alex won several awards. It received the Hans Christian Andersen Award. It also won the Ze'ev Prize and the Yad Vashem Prize. This book also got a special mention from UNESCO. The Ministry of Education recommends this book.
