About Ruth Álvarez
Ruth Álvarez was born in Palma de Mallorca, a city in Spain. Her father is Spanish, and her mother is from Equatorial Guinea. Her mother belongs to the Bubi people.
Playing for Clubs
Ruth Álvarez started playing football at a young age. She became the youngest player ever to play in the top Spanish women's football league, called Primera División. She made her debut for Collerense when she was just 15 years and 100 days old. This happened during the 2015–16 season.
After playing for Collerense, Ruth joined Eibar in 2019. She played many games for them until 2022. From 2022 to 2024, she played for Madrid CFF. In 2024, she moved to Atlético Baleares.
Playing for Her Country
Even though Ruth has not played for the main Spanish national team, she has represented her home region. She played for the Balearic Islands women's football team at different age levels, including under-12, under-16, and under-18. She also played for the Majorca local team.
In 2016, Ruth met with staff from the Equatorial Guinea national football team. This was because her mother is from Equatorial Guinea, which means Ruth could choose to play for that country. In 2021, she played for Spain's under-23 team. She can still choose to play for Equatorial Guinea in the future.
