Ryōhei Katō (加藤 凌平, Katō Ryōhei, born 9 September 1993) is a Japanese gymnast. He is known for his amazing skills in artistic gymnastics. Ryōhei has won several important medals, including two at the Olympic Games. He earned a silver medal in 2012 and a gold medal in 2016 for his team's performance.

Ryōhei Katō's Gymnastics Journey
Ryōhei Katō started his journey in gymnastics at a young age. He quickly became one of Japan's top gymnasts. His hard work and dedication helped him compete at the highest levels.
Early Competitions
In 2013, Ryōhei competed in the 2013 Summer Universiade. This is a big sports event for university students. He and his Japanese teammates won a bronze medal for their team performance. Ryōhei also won a gold medal in the Floor exercise. He earned a bronze medal on the Horizontal Bar.
World Championships Success
Later in 2013, Ryōhei competed at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. This is one of the biggest gymnastics events in the world. He showed his talent in the "all-around" competition. This means he competed on all six men's gymnastics events. Ryōhei won a silver medal, coming in second place. He was just behind his famous teammate, Kōhei Uchimura.
Ryōhei continued to shine at the World Championships. In 2014, his team won a silver medal. He also won a bronze medal on the Parallel Bars. In 2015, Ryōhei and his team achieved a gold medal. This was a big win for Japan.
Olympic Medals
Ryōhei Katō has competed in two Olympic Games.
