Ryuji Kitamura (北村 隆二, Kitamura Ryūji, born March 15, 1981) is a Japanese former professional football player. He was born on March 15, 1981, in Zushi, Kanagawa, Japan. Ryuji Kitamura played as a midfielder, which is a player who helps both defend and attack in a football game. He played for several teams during his career, including FC Gifu and Matsumoto Yamaga FC. After he stopped playing, he became a football manager.

Early Days and Youth Football

Ryuji Kitamura started his football journey when he was a teenager. From 1996 to 1998, he played for Zuyo High School. After high school, he continued to play football while attending Aoyama Gakuin University. He played for the university team from 1999 to 2002. These years helped him develop his skills and prepare for a professional career in football.

Playing as a Professional

Ryuji Kitamura began his professional career in 2003. His first team was Nagoya Grampus Eight, a well-known club in Japan. He played with them for two years, until 2004.

From 2005 to 2008, Ryuji Kitamura played for FC Gifu. This was a very important part of his career. He played 83 games for FC Gifu and scored one goal. During his time there, the team moved up through different leagues. They started in the Regional Leagues, then went to the Japan Football League, and finally reached the J2 League.

After leaving FC Gifu, he joined Matsumoto Yamaga FC in 2009. He played for this club until 2012. With Matsumoto Yamaga FC, he played 75 games and scored two goals. He helped the team move from the Regional Leagues to the Japan Football League.
