Ryujiro Ueda (植田 龍仁朗, Ueda Ryūjirō, born January 29, 1988, in Kadoma, Osaka) is a Japanese former football player. He played as a defender and was known for his strong play. His last team was Roasso Kumamoto.

Ryujiro Ueda's Football Journey

Ryujiro Ueda started his football career in Japan. He played for several professional teams during his time as a player. He was a defender, which means his main job was to stop the other team from scoring goals.

Playing for Gamba Osaka

Ueda began his youth career with Gamba Osaka from 2003 to 2005. He then joined their senior team in 2006. During his time with Gamba Osaka, the team won some big championships. They won the 2008 AFC Champions League, which is a major tournament for clubs in Asia. They also won the 2007 J.League Cup and the 2008 Emperor's Cup.

Time with Fagiano Okayama

After playing for Gamba Osaka, Ryujiro Ueda moved to Fagiano Okayama in 2009. He played for this team for many years, until 2015. He was an important player for them, appearing in many games.

The Amazing Header Goal

On October 30, 2011, while playing for Fagiano Okayama, Ueda scored a very special goal. He headed the ball into the net from his own half of the field! This was a huge distance, measured at 57.8 meters. For a short time, people thought it might be a new world record for the longest headed goal. However, it was later found that Jone Samuelsen still held the record with a slightly longer header of 58.13 meters. Even so, Ueda's goal was still incredibly impressive!

Finishing His Career at Roasso Kumamoto

In 2016, Ueda joined Roasso Kumamoto. He continued to play as a defender for this team. He played for Roasso Kumamoto until the end of the 2019 season.

Retirement from Football

Ryujiro Ueda decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2019 season. He had a long and successful career playing the sport he loved.
