SCHOKINAG-Schokolade-Industrie GmbH, or just SCHOKINAG, is a company in Mannheim, Germany. They are one of Europe's top makers of chocolate. SCHOKINAG started as a family business in 1923. Since 2020, a Malaysian company called Guan Chong Berhad (GCB) has owned them.
SCHOKINAG uses cocoa beans, cocoa butter, and cocoa mass. They make both liquid and solid chocolates, including special couverture chocolate. Their products are not sold directly to people. Instead, they sell to other food companies and wholesalers for further use.

How SCHOKINAG Began
SCHOKINAG was founded in 1923. It began as a family business. From the start, they made chocolate for other companies to use.
Rebuilding and Growth
After World War II, the company was rebuilt in 1945. In 1959, SCHOKINAG made its first delivery of liquid chocolate. This was a big step!
In 1978, Hans-Joachim Herrmann, a grandchild of the founder, took over the company. SCHOKINAG grew a lot with new investments in 1990, 1993, and 2000.
Expanding Around the World
SCHOKINAG started to expand internationally. SCHOKINAG North America was created in 1991. Then came SCHOKINAG UK in 1997. SCHOKINAG Chocolate Belgium opened in 2006.
Changes in Ownership
In 2009, a large American food company, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), bought SCHOKINAG. Later, in 2015, ADM sold SCHOKINAG's chocolate making part to another US company, Cargill.
In 2016, two Dutch financial investors bought SCHOKINAG. Then, in 2020, the Malaysian company Guan Chong Berhad (GCB) became the new owner.
Sustainable Cocoa Efforts
In 2019, SCHOKINAG joined the German Initiative on Sustainable Cocoa. This group works to make sure cocoa is grown in a fair and eco-friendly way.
What SCHOKINAG Makes
