How the Museum Started
The idea for the Sacramento Children's Museum began in 2005. A local mother named Kathleen Palley, along with Alan Godlove, helped create it. They wanted to build a special place where children could learn through play. The museum was set up as a non-profit organization, which means it's run to help the community rather than to make money.
The museum officially opened its doors on August 25, 2011. Sharon Stone Smith was the Executive Director who helped guide the museum in its early days. Today, it continues to be a wonderful place for young children to discover, create, and have fun.
