Safaree Lloyd Samuels (born July 4, 1981) is an American actor and rapper. He is known for appearing on reality television shows. In the early 2000s, he worked as a hype man for the hip hop group Hoodstars. This group included the famous rapper Nicki Minaj.
Safaree became more widely known for dating Nicki Minaj. He also continued to be her hype man until 2014. Later, in 2016, he joined the TV show Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood. He then appeared on Love & Hip Hop: New York in 2017. He has also been on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta and Love & Hip Hop: Miami. This makes him the only person to appear in all four Love & Hip Hop shows. As a music artist, he has released one studio album and several mixtapes.

Safaree Lloyd Samuels was born in Brooklyn, New York City. His birthday is July 4, 1981. His parents came from Jamaica. He grew up in an area called Canarsie, New York.
Career Highlights
Safaree started his career as a hype man. He worked with a hip hop group from New York called Hoodstars. The group formed in the early 2000s. Rapper Loustar started the group and brought in other rappers like Seven Up and Nicki Minaj. Safaree was friends with Loustar from high school.
In 2004, the group recorded a song for a WWE Diva named Victoria. The song was called "Don't Mess With." It was featured on a music album called ThemeAddict: WWE The Music, Vol. 6. After the group broke up, Nicki Minaj began her solo music career. Safaree, who was dating Minaj, continued to work as her hype man.
In 2012, Safaree appeared in Nicki Minaj's music video for "Stupid Hoe". He also helped with some parts of three songs on Minaj's 2012 album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. In 2015, he released two mixtapes. These were called It Is What It Is and It Is What It Is, Vol. 2. In early 2016, he appeared on the TV show K. Michelle: My Life.
In May 2016, Safaree joined the cast of the VH1 reality show Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood. The third season of this show started in August 2016. In July 2016, he released another mixtape called Real Yard Vibes. In August 2017, it was announced that Safaree would be on the first season of VH1's Scared Famous. This show premiered in October 2017. In February 2018, Safaree received a Blue & Bougie Impact Award. He was recognized for representing Jamaica on VH1.

Safaree Samuels dated rapper Nicki Minaj for many years. They were together from 2003 to 2014.
Safaree became engaged to actress Erica Mena on Christmas Eve in 2018. They got married on October 7, 2019. Their daughter was born on February 3, 2020. In May 2021, Safaree announced they were expecting their second child. Later that month, Erica Mena filed for divorce. Their son was born on June 28, 2021. Safaree and Erica Mena officially divorced in 2022. Since then, he has dated Love & Hip Hop co-star Amara La Negra.
