Music download facts for kids
A music download is when you get a song from the Internet and save it on your computer or phone. This can mean buying music legally, or sometimes getting music without paying or permission.
Back in 2006, people spent about $2 billion buying digital music. That year, over 500 million songs were bought online around the world!
Many websites let you download music. Some well-known ones include iTunes, Google Play, Windows Store, and Amazon.com. As of 2011, Apple's iTunes was the biggest, making $1.1 billion that year.
