Saheed Osupa, whose real name is Akorede Babatunde Okunola, is a famous Nigerian musician and actor. He was born on August 7, 1970. People also call him King Saheed Osupa or K.S.O. He is known for his Fuji music, acting in films, and creating a new style called hip Fuji.

Early Life and Education
Growing Up
Saheed Osupa was born in Ajegunle, Lagos State, Nigeria. However, he grew up in Ibadan, which is the capital city of Oyo State. His father, Moshood Ajiwere Layeye, was also a musician who played Wéré music. He was also an older cousin to another famous Fuji musician, Ayinde Barrister.
School Days
Osupa went to Amuwo Odofin High School in Lagos and finished there in 1987. Later, in 1992, he earned his National Diploma in Business Administration from The Polytechnic, Ibadan. He also studied Networking Operations at the American International College.
Music Career
Starting in Fuji Music
Saheed Osupa began his professional music career as a teenager in 1983. He started as a Fuji artist. His very first album was called Fuji Fa Disco, and after that came Fuji Blues. He has released more than 40 studio albums. One of his notable albums is Mr. Music, which was a special 4-in-1 album. In 2008, Ayinde Barrister officially named Osupa the "King of Fuji Music."
Exploring Hip Hop
On December 20, 2014, Osupa released a hip hop song called "Vanakula." This song was produced by K-Solo. He released another song produced by K-Solo on April 13, 2015, called "African Beauty," which featured Yetunde Omobadan. On August 8, 2015, he worked with Seriki on a song titled "Womi."
In November 2015, Osupa was recognized as one of the "Most Successful Nigerian musicians" by The NET magazine. On June 12, 2018, he released his first album that mixed Fuji and hip hop music, called Non-Stop.
Acting in Films
Besides music, Saheed Osupa has also acted in many Yoruba films. He has appeared in over 30 movies.
Friendly Rivalry
Saheed Osupa and fellow musician Wasiu Alabi Pasuma have had a friendly rivalry over the years. Osupa released about 10 songs that talked about their competition. This rivalry continued into 2012. Osupa mentioned that there were several attempts to make peace between them in 2010 and 2011, but they were not successful.
