The Sahel is a special area, or region, in the country of Burkina Faso. It is located in West Africa. The main city and capital of the Sahel region is Dori. This region was officially created on July 2, 2001. It is divided into four smaller parts called provinces. These provinces are Oudalan, Séno, Soum, and Yagha.
