Saint Bernard, Nebraska facts for kids
Saint Bernard is a small place in Platte County, Nebraska, in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. Instead, it's part of the larger county.
How Saint Bernard Began
Saint Bernard was started a long time ago, in 1878. A person named Bernard Schroeder helped to plan and create the community. Many of the first people who came to live in Saint Bernard were from Germany. They helped build up the area.
The Old Post Office
For many years, Saint Bernard had its own post office. It opened in 1879, which was just one year after the community was planned. People could send and receive letters and packages there. However, the post office closed down in 1906.
