Salamat is one of the 23 regions in the country of Chad. Chad is located in central Africa. The main city and capital of the Salamat region is Am Timan.
This region is special because it is home to half of the famous Zakouma National Park. This park is a huge area where many different kinds of wild animals live.
How Salamat is Organized
Like many large areas, the Salamat region is divided into smaller parts. This helps with managing the region and its people. Salamat is split into three main areas called departments.
