Saline City is a small, unincorporated community located in Saline County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. An unincorporated community means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's usually managed by the county.
A Look Back: Saline City's History
Saline City was first established in 1858. It was given its name because it is located within Saline County. For a while, it was also known by another name, "Littlerock."
The community had a post office called Saline City, which opened in 1869 but closed just one year later in 1870. Later, a different post office named Little Rock operated there from 1878 until 1907.
