Sam Humphrey (born in 1994) is an actor from New Zealand. He grew up in Frankston, Victoria, Australia. Sam is most famous for his role as Charles Stratton in the 2017 movie The Greatest Showman. Charles Stratton was also known as General Tom Thumb.

Early Life and Background
Sam was born with a rare genetic condition called acrodysplasia. This condition affects how bones grow. When he was a child, he also found out he had Crohn's disease. This is a long-term illness that affects the digestive system. Because of these health challenges, Sam spent a lot of time in hospitals when he was young.
Sam has two siblings. His older brother, Josiah Humphrey, is an entrepreneur. Josiah helped start a technology company called Appster in 2011.
Sam went to Tawa Intermediate school in Wellington, New Zealand, in 2006. He is also of half-Asian descent.
Sam's Acting Career
Before he became a professional actor, Sam performed in many plays at his school.
Sam started his acting career on television. His first role was in the TV show Neighbours. He appeared in four episodes of the show.
Film Debut in The Greatest Showman
Sam made his first movie appearance in the 2017 historical drama musical film The Greatest Showman. In this movie, he played Charles Stratton. Charles Stratton was a real-life performer who was known by his stage name, General Tom Thumb.
Because Sam is taller than the real Tom Thumb was, he had to walk on his knees for his role. His voice was also changed digitally to sound deeper.
In 2017, Sam also starred in a television movie called Jeremy the Dud.
