Sam Humphrey is an actor born in New Zealand in 1994. He grew up in Frankston, Victoria, Australia. Sam is most famous for his role as Charles Stratton in the 2017 movie The Greatest Showman.

Sam Humphrey's Early Life
Sam Humphrey was born with a rare health condition. When he was a child, he was also diagnosed with another health condition called Crohn's disease. Because of these, he spent a lot of time in hospitals.
Sam has shared that he faced very tough times and challenges growing up. However, with strong support from his family, his faith, and his own determination, he was able to overcome these difficulties. He then worked hard to follow his dream of becoming an actor.
Sam has two siblings. His older brother, Josiah Humphrey, is an entrepreneur. Josiah co-founded a technology company called Appster in 2011. Sam went to Tawa Intermediate in Wellington, New Zealand, in 2006. He is also of half Asian descent.
Sam Humphrey's Acting Career
Before becoming a professional actor, Sam Humphrey performed in many school plays. These experiences helped him prepare for his future roles.
Sam started his acting career on television. His first role was on the popular TV show Neighbours. He appeared in four episodes of the series. Later, he made his big screen debut in the 2017 musical film The Greatest Showman. In this movie, he played Charles Stratton, a performer known as General Tom Thumb. Charles Stratton was a dwarf performer in a famous circus.
Since Sam was taller than the real Tom Thumb, he had to walk on his knees for his role. His voice was also changed digitally to sound deeper. In 2017, Sam Humphrey also starred in a television film called Jeremy the Dud.
