Neighbours facts for kids
Neighbours is a very popular Australian TV show. It's a "soap opera," which means it tells ongoing stories about the lives of many different characters. The show first started in March 1985 on the Seven Network. However, that network stopped showing it later the same year. Another TV channel, Network Ten, decided to bring the show back. They started making and broadcasting Neighbours in 1986, and it has been on their channel ever since.
The show was created by Reg Watson. When it first returned, not many people were watching it. Network Ten worked hard to make more people tune in. They added exciting new characters. Two of these characters were played by famous actors Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan. These two characters became a popular couple named "Scott and Charlene." By the time they got married in 1987, many more people were watching Neighbours!
What is Neighbours About?
The show is all about the everyday lives of people. These characters live on a made-up street called Ramsay Street. This street is part of a fictional suburb called Erinsborough. While Erinsborough isn't real, it's supposed to be located in the real-life city of Melbourne, Australia. The stories often involve friendships, family drama, and community events.
