Samantha "Sammy" Watson (born November 10, 1999) is an American middle-distance runner from New York. She is known for her amazing speed in races like the 800 meters. Sammy has won many awards and set records since she was a teenager.

Sammy Watson's Running Journey
Sammy Watson started running at a young age. She quickly became one of the best young runners in the United States. Her career has included success in high school, college, and as a professional athlete.
High School Achievements
Sammy Watson was a star runner during her high school years. She set several national records.
- In 2017, she broke the national high school record for the 1,000 meters indoors. She ran it in 2 minutes and 40.72 seconds.
- She also broke the 800 meters national high school record. Her time was 2 minutes and 1.78 seconds. This record was previously held by the famous runner Mary Decker.
- Sammy won the 800 meters title at the 2017 New Balance Nationals Outdoor.
- Her best time in the 800 meters during high school was 2:00.65. This is one of the fastest times ever for a high school girl in the U.S.
International Success as a Junior
Sammy Watson showed her talent on the world stage even before she finished high school.
- In 2015, when she was just 15, she won a gold medal at the IAAF World U18 Championships. She was the world youth champion in the 800 meters.
- She also won a gold medal in the mixed 4x400 meters relay at the same event.
- In 2016, Sammy won two more gold medals at the IAAF World U20 Championships. She won the 800 meters race and was part of the winning 4x400 meters relay team.
College Running Career
After high school, Sammy Watson ran for Texas A&M University. She continued to achieve great things in college track and field.
- In 2018, she won the 800 meters race at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships. This is a huge achievement for college athletes.
- She also won the 800 meters at the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Outdoor Championships in 2018.
