Samarria Brevard was born on September 22, 1993. She is an amazing American skateboarder and also a musician. She skates with a "goofy-footed" stance, which means she rides with her right foot forward.

Samarria Brevard's Skateboarding Journey
Early Days in Riverside
Samarria grew up in Riverside, California. She started skateboarding when she was 13 years old. She often skated with her brothers and cousins, which helped her learn and get better.
Big Wins and Achievements
Samarria quickly became a talented skater. In 2011, she won first place at the Supergirl Am Jam in Venice Beach, CA. This big win helped her join the Hoopla Skateboards team.
She also competed in the X Games, which are like the Olympics for action sports.
- In 2013, she placed 4th at the X Games in Los Angeles.
- In 2014, she finished 10th at the X Games Austin.
- Also in 2014, Samarria made history! She became the first African-American female skateboarder to win the Kimberly Diamond Cup Women's Street Championship in South Africa. This was a huge moment for her and for skateboarding.
Continuing Success
Samarria kept achieving great things in skateboarding.
- In 2015, she placed in the top ten at the Women's Super Crown Championship. This was part of the Nike SB Street League Series.
- In 2016, she placed 5th at the X Games.
- Later in 2016, Samarria was a special guest on Thrasher magazine's show, King of the Road. She appeared with fellow skaters Leo Baker and Nora Vasconcellos.
- In March 2017, Samarria and another skater, Savannah Headden, were in a music video. They skated around Southern California for the song "Name For You" by The Shins.
Silver Medal and Pro Status
July 2017 was a big month for Samarria.
- She won a silver medal at the X Games Minneapolis 2017. She placed 2nd in the Women's Skateboard Street contest. In her final run, she landed an amazing Tre flip trick down an eight-stair drop.
- Soon after winning her silver medal, the skateboard company Enjoi made her a professional skater!
- Also in 2017, Samarria was featured in a skate video called Don't Quit Your Day Job. This film was special because it was the first all-female skate film in the US in over ten years. It was released by Transworld Skateboarding.
Recent Achievements
- In 2018, Samarria released another video part in the Etnies skate video called ALBUM.
- In 2021, Samarria achieved another dream. She was part of the first-ever USA Olympic skateboarding team! She competed in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
