Samtskhe–Javakheti is a beautiful region in the country of Georgia. Its main city, or capital, is Akhaltsikhe. This region is made up of three old historical areas: Meskheti, Javakheti, and Tori.
Important pipelines and a railway line go through Samtskhe–Javakheti. These include the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, which carries oil. The South Caucasus natural gas pipeline carries natural gas. The Kars–Tbilisi–Baku railway also passes through. It helps to move goods and people.
The region has many amazing places to visit. Some major tourist spots are the cave monasteries of Vardzia and Vanis Kvabebi. You can also see the historic Rabati Castle and the ancient Khertvisi fortress.
