Adigeni (Georgian: ადიგენის მუნიციპალიტეტი) is a special area in Georgia. It is located in the southern part of the country. This area is called a municipality.
Adigeni covers about 799.5 square kilometers. That is roughly the size of a small city. In 2021, about 16,092 people lived here. The main town and administrative center is also called Adigeni.

What is Adigeni Municipality?
Adigeni is a local government area. It is like a county or district. The municipality is divided into different parts. It has two main towns, called dabas. These are Adigeni and Abastumani.
There are also 18 communities in Adigeni. These communities are made up of 55 villages. This helps organize the area and its people.
People of Adigeni
In early 2021, the population was 16,092 people. This number was a bit lower than in 2014. The area has about 20 people living per square kilometer.
Most people in Adigeni are Georgian. There is also a small group of Armenians. They mostly live in Abastumani. You can also find a few Russians and other groups.
Many people in Adigeni follow the Georgian Orthodox Church. Some people are Muslim. There are also many Catholics living here.

In 1944, a group called the Meskhetian Turks lived here. They were a Turkish-speaking group. They were moved to Central Asian countries. This was part of a big move of people. At that time, they made up most of the population.
