History of San Antonio
San Antonio was officially founded around 1894. Before that, there was some discussion about whether it started in 1892 or 1893. The town's beginning was thanks to Eduardo Saguier, who wanted to create a new settlement. He asked Juan Beapuy to help him manage this new area.
In 1903, San Antonio became an official "commune." A commune is a small local government that helps run the town. People believe the town was named after Saint Anthony of Padua. This is because the founder, Eduardo Saguier, was very devoted to the saint.
