San Benito is a town in Guatemala. It is a special type of town called a municipality. San Benito is part of the El Petén area. This area is known as a department in Guatemala.
The town covers about 112 square kilometers. That's like a square with sides of about 10.5 kilometers. In 2002, about 29,926 people lived there. By 2012, the number of people grew to about 59,486.
San Benito is right next to Flores. Flores is the main city of the El Petén department.

Deportivo San Benito Football Club
The Deportivo San Benito football club is a local team. They have been playing in the second highest league in Guatemalan football. This league is called the Primera División de Ascenso. They moved up to this league after the 1998/1999 season.
Deportivo Don Bosco Football Club
Another team is the Deportivo Don Bosco football club. They play in the third highest league. This league is known as the tercera División de Ascenso. They joined this league in the 2015/2016 season.
Both teams play their home games at the Estadio Alejandro Ochaeta Requena. This is their local stadium.
