San Felipe Plaza is a very tall building, also known as a skyscraper, located in Houston, Texas, in the United States. It has 46 floors! This impressive tower was finished in 1984. It was designed by architect Richard Keating and built by Linbeck Construction Corporation.

The building is about 625 feet (191 meters) tall. It has a huge amount of space inside, about 959,466 square feet (89,137 square meters), which is used for offices. San Felipe Plaza is the 16th tallest building in Houston. It is also the second tallest building outside of the main downtown area. It is located about 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) from the famous Houston Galleria shopping mall.

Building History: How San Felipe Plaza Grew

San Felipe Plaza was completed in 1984. Over the years, many different companies have had their offices here.

In 1993, an oil and gas company called Sanchez-O'Brien Oil & Gas rented more space in the building. Other companies there at the time included BHP Petroleum, Maxxam, and Texas Commerce Bank. BHP Petroleum even had its main U.S. office in San Felipe Plaza for a while. Later in 1993, BHP moved its office to a different building.

In 2003, the Consulate of Canada, which is like an embassy for Canada in Houston, opened its office in the building.

More recently, in 2014, a company called AkinMears rented the entire 45th floor. In 2016, Deutser, another company, also signed a lease. In 2018, Encino Energy rented a large amount of space, about 76,048 square feet (7,065 square meters).
