San Joaquin Hills is a special kind of neighborhood in Laguna Niguel, California. It's a planned community that is also guard-gated. This means it was carefully designed before being built, and it has gates for entry.

This community is located in the northern part of Laguna Niguel, within the San Joaquin Hills of Orange County, California. Building started in 1997, after the city council approved the plans in 1994.

San Joaquin Hills is made up of different smaller neighborhoods, often called subdivisions. Each of these neighborhoods has about 250 homes, along with parks and a community pool. In total, there are 910 homes in San Joaquin Hills, and about 2,750 people live there.

The community has its own group called the Community Association. This group takes care of the community centers, pools, and all the landscaping. There are two main entrances into San Joaquin Hills, each with its own gate. The neighborhood generally starts near the intersection of Moulton Parkway and Aliso Creek Road.

Exploring the Neighborhoods

San Joaquin Hills is home to several distinct neighborhoods. These include Crestview, Glen Cove, Knolls, and Somerset. A newer section called The Summit was also added. Each of these main neighborhoods has even smaller sections of homes within them. Most of these homes were built by the S&S construction company.

Knolls: Southern Charm

Knolls is a neighborhood built by S&S construction company. It is the southernmost part of the San Joaquin Hills community. This area surrounds the main community center, which features a swimming pool and a patio area for residents to enjoy.

Crestview: Central Living

Crestview is another neighborhood created by S&S construction company. It is located in the center of the San Joaquin Hills community, right next to the main community center. Crestview has 245 homes, all of which are detached, meaning they are not connected to other houses. These homes range in size from 2,100 to 3,300 square feet.

Glen Cove: The Largest Section

Glen Cove is the biggest neighborhood within San Joaquin Hills, with 315 homes. It is conveniently located near Laguna Niguel Elementary School. All the homes in Glen Cove are detached houses.

Somerset: A Past Community

Somerset was also located in the center of the San Joaquin Hills community, similar to Crestview. All the homes in Somerset have been sold. This neighborhood was later replaced by The Summit.

The Summit: High-End Views

The Summit is a newer neighborhood, also built by S&S construction company. Homes in this section were released in September 2006. These are considered high-end homes, and many offer great views of the city lights.
