San José de Metán, often called Metán, is a city located in the southern part of the Salta province in Argentina. It is about 160 kilometers (about 100 miles) away from Salta, which is the capital city of the province. You can find Metán along important roads like National Routes 9 and 34.
According to a census from 2010, around 28,000 people live in Metán. It is also the main town of the Metán Department, which is like a county or district.
