What People Do: The Economy
Car Manufacturing in San José Chiapa
One of the most important parts of San José Chiapa's economy is a big car factory. This factory belongs to a company called Audi. It is a very large factory that can make up to 150,000 cars every year.
The factory produces different types of cars, including the popular Audi Q5 model. The engines for these cars are brought in from Germany. This shows how different parts of the world work together to make a single product.
How Cars are Transported
Once the cars are finished, they need to be moved to other places. Most of the cars are transported by train. Trains are a very efficient way to move many cars at once.
However, some cars are also moved by trucks. About 13 to 17 trucks leave the factory every day carrying finished cars.
Exporting Cars Around the World
About half of the cars made in San José Chiapa are sent to Europe. These cars travel through the port city of Veracruz in Mexico.
Other cars and car parts are sent to different countries like the United States, China, and India. For these destinations, the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas is used. This means that cars made in San José Chiapa are driven by people all over the world!
