San Marcos is a town and a municipality in the country of Honduras. It is located in the Santa Bárbara department. In 2013, the town itself had about 5,660 people living there. The whole area, called the municipality, had a population of 15,229 people in the same year.
Since 2006, San Marcos has been known by a special nickname: "La Capital de los Juegos Tradicionales de Honduras." This means "The Capital of Traditional Honduran Games." It's a place that celebrates and keeps alive many old and fun games!
